Yes, there are two. The first one I signed up for is for a scarf and it uses about 750 yards (not looking at the pattern so I’m guessing) of main color and 5 mini skeins. I found the perfect gray for the main color and had to do some digging to find the mini skeins I wanted to use. The due date is February 8.
I was working on that one when a sweater test knit popped up. The due date for that one is February 18. I knew it would be tight, and I’d have to drop everything else to get both of them done.
As I was knitting on the scarf, I kept thinking . . I’m going to run out of the main color and it wasn’t going to be by a little bit but by a whole lot. I looked at the pattern and that’s when I realized it too 700+ yards of the main color. In my haste to find mini skeins that work, I overlooked how many yards of the main color was needed and assumed I needed one skein (400 yards) so I had to order a second skein. I was very lucky that color was still available. I think it was Wednesday or Thursday of last week that I ordered the new skein and it was Thursday that I ran out of yarn.
In the above photo, I’ll pick up in that pink “U” when I get the rest of the yarn.
Of course the fringe needs to be trimmed and it all needs to be blocked but that’s the finished side.
That freed me up to start the second test knit so that’s what I’m working on til the second skein of main color arrives for the scarf.
I had hoped the second skein would arrive today but then I realized today is a postal holiday. Our mail lady is usually late on Monday because of having the Sunday mail too so I’m betting it will be after 6 p.m. before the mail arrives tomorrow.
That means I’ll be spending today and tomorrow knitting on the second test knit. They both will be done in plenty of time before the deadline.
I’m making good progress and I so love this color. It’s nice to be working with worsted weight yarn, which goes much faster than does fingering weight.
