We should have known not to start a diet before a trip to Louisiana. We arrived home yesterday evening from getting our ice cream and a King Cake had been left on the table.
I was so hoping it was chocolate so I wouldn’t be so interested in it but . . it’s praline pecan . . my favorite!
I should have gotten a picture of the entire warning. It’s telling us there’s a non-edible baby in there. Whoever gets the baby is responsible for bringing the King Cake next year.
Vince had been doing better on his diet but I really, really, seriously really wanted a sandwich from Darrell’s yesterday so I was going there. I had every intention to get it to go and eat it before I got home so he didn’t have to look at it but he decided he’d have one too. Then we had ice cream. He said .. heck, I am not leaving Louisiana without boudin so he stopped and got boudin on the way home from having ice cream. I had already bought and consumed boudin. Then, he said “We might as well eat some King Cake” but it was me who said NO!
We will probably have King Cake today so our diet can begin anew on Sunday. We’ll be fine . . just a little setback.

There will always be setbacks – it’s what you do for the long haul that counts. If you’re able to start fresh again, then don’t worry about the small setback. (Working on this myself, so I know what you’re going through.)

You know a little cake is ok. You should give in to your cravings. Otherwise you will eat the entire cake!!

Feeling your pain on the diet but who can go to Louisiana and not eat. The food there is so good. We just got back from Florida no way was I leaving without a Cuban sandwich and black beans and rice.

I could probably look it up but asking you is easier! What is boudin? You’ll be fine once you leave LA again. 😉

If you’re going to do it, don’t guilt yourself to death, just enjoy it. =) That’s my new motto.
