Early to Bed

Last night . . Sleepless in Lake Charles! My uncle went to bed. Then Vince went to bed. I usually stay up til about midnight but by 10, I was tired so I went to bed. Vince was asleep but when I went to bed, he decided to read. He said he thought I was going to read too but I wasn’t . . but I did. It was about midnight when we finally stopped reading.

It was going to be in the mid-30’s last night (and tonight I think).

About 2 a.m., Vince woke me up and said “I think your uncle is awake!” I just wanted to sleep but about 15 minutes later, I was throwing covers off. My uncle had turned the heater up . . way up! About 30 minutes later, Vince got up and opened the bedroom window.

Then about 4, Vince decided to get up and see what my uncle was doing. I kept thinking . . I’m going to go sleep in the car!!

At 5, Rita had to go out. My uncle was still awake.

At 6, Vince decided he would get up. At 6:30, I was freezing. The window was still open and my warmth (Vince) was gone!

At 7:00, Rita must have heard my uncle’s dogs and she started barking. About 7:15, Vince came in to get her and wanted to know what I wanted to do about breakfast. NOTHING! I just wanted to sleep.

At 7:30, my phone rang. I didn’t answer it .. I had hopes of going back to sleep . . I didn’t.

My uncle took a nap this afternoon. Vince has to be more tired than I am. I was thinking about taking a shower and going to bed at 9:00 p.m. and realized all our bath towels are still in the washer. Seriously, I’m thinking about taking a roll of paper towels in the bathroom and using those. I’m too tired to wait for the towels to dry, my knee hurts if I go up and down the stairs, my uncle is already in bed so I can’t go in his bathroom to get towels.

When I do get to bed . . I’m going to sleep like a rock.
