Another day on the road but I’m in Louisiana and this will always feel like home to me. The first day has been as good as I had hoped!
Up just after daylight and a beautiful sky.
As far as the diet, I did great for up until dinner.
For breakfast, it was McDonald’s sausage muffin but I didn’t eat the bread, and a side of scrambled eggs.
Lunch was a salad from home in the car in the Walmart parking lot (and a picture I had to copy off Facebook because my phone isn’t signed onto the new network and I don’t have it here with me at the moment so I can’t fix it. Sorry!
Vince said “This is a first.” And I said “What?” He said “Having lunch in the Walmart parking lot.” Not sure about that but maybe.
Crossing into Louisiana always makes me happy! Family and friends. The food! The weather! No matter where we live, I’ll always want to live near Chad but Louisiana will always be home for me.
Dinner – crawfish and crabs and one clam that Vince talked me into eating. My uncle said “claims are for northern folks” so Vince enjoyed the clams but he eats crawfish and crabs too.
When the first day of the trip involves crawfish and crabs, you know it’s going to be a good week!

I really love McDonald’s sausage. It’s just good! Sometimes I’ll get one of their breakfasts but I always have to have 2 pieces of sausage. I love crab and clams (and LOBSTER!).

When I was pregnant with my first baby, I craved crawfish. Good thing we lived in Gonzales, La.

I’m glad you arrived safely and had a wonderful crawfish dinner! My husband liked clams, especially cherry stone, but you know I’d starve to death if I had to eat any of that stuff.

Where did you get such a good looking dinner? We have friends in Shreveport after living in Chalmette up til Katrina. She is a wonderful cook.
