Since Addie needs socks, I brought several skeins to make socks for her. I showed her three skeins of yarn, one had a lot of pink, one had pink, yellow and green, and one was mostly green.
She chose the green. It’s Spun Right Round Sport Sock and the color is Lucky Charm.
This is what the picture of the hank looks like on Eat, Sleep, Knit’s website. I love that the hand dyed yarns are sometimes different from what is shown, and that they can look so different once they’re caked. If I like the colors shown, I’ll always like the yarn.
I’m going to finish the back of the unicorn sweater tomorrow. Then I have to get the horn and ears knitted, soaked and blocked. I don’t think I’m going to have time to get this finished so I’m going to finish the back, then try to get her at least one pair of socks done. I can knit the sleeves, then soak and block everything after I get home, without worrying about her seeing it.
I have a friend coming over to visit/knit and working on socks will be much easier while we talk and visit.
I’m anxious to see how these socks look. This will be my first project after the New Year.

Good choice, Addie! I’m surprised she didn’t go for the lotsa pink, though.

It also occurs to me that postage on a pair of socks would be less than postage on the sweater. Just a minimalist thought. =)

There’s always a box full of stuff to send to them so I never send one thing. I can stuff a medium flat rate priority mail box with a lot of little things. I usually send her a box of “stuff” about once a month so sweater, socks, whatever . . it will all go into her monthly package.

There really weren’t a lot of pink choices. We had to order a pinkish/orange tie sweatshirt because they were out of her size. We did get one pink tie shirt but I got solid shirts in cream, blue and purple because almost all of her shirts have something on t hem and don’t go with printed pants. She got a black floral dress, a black and white striped dress, a blue dress with pineapples and that’s all I remember. She wore the blue dress with pineapples yesterday and has on the black floral dress today. She does love to get dressed up!
