It’s blocked and ready to wear! She knitted the hard part – everything above the band and I knitted everything below the band. Someone had asked if she has given up knitting. No but she doesn’t have a lot of time and she has so many interruptions that it was hard for her to work on the chart. When she started it, she wasn’t working and Addie slept more but now that she’s working and only has evenings and so much to do at home, she was nervous about doing the charts. I kept telling her she did all the hard part and left me the easy part but she’s still a fairly new knitter and after she put it down for a year or so, it was really hard for her to get started again. I was happy to finish it for her.
Here it is before blocking:
You can see the difference after blocking.
It fits her perfectly and it’s her favorite color.
It looks so good on her.
The only problem is . . trying to decide which boots to wear!

Beautiful! What a great mother-in-law you are. I’ll bet she’s really pleased to have that finished!.

It looks great on her. I made myself one, and then I gained a crazy amount of weight, so it doesn’t fit. I’d like to make another one, but I would also like to lose weight, so the one I made would fit…

Such a pretty sweater. It makes me wish I enjoyed knitting. Unfortunately I do not.

Totally gorgeous! Nicole and sweater. Yep, that’s when I gave up knitting. I knit several sweaters afghans, etc b.c. But being interrupted by three little boys made crochet and sewing much easier to pick up where I left off! It’s been so many years now that I am lacking confidence!

that is truly a beautiful sweater, and nicole is just beaming so you gotta know how much she loves it! it looks wonderful on her, makes me want to learn how to knit altho i can do a bit already. you’ve been singing the praises of the pattern but i never did go to look at a finished product so this was such a surprise to see it done. she definitely wears it well, and it is “her” color!

I think it will go with either pair of boots. She is beautiful and so is the shawl. She (and you) did good on this!! It is so pretty.

So cute on Nicole! I bet she will get a lot of use out of it, too. I checked out the difficulty rating and it’s too much for me, but it really is a pretty sweater–love the flare of it. Enjoy your time in Missouri!

They are both beautiful. I have told you many times you were lucky to have such a nice DIL but she is very lucky to have you, too.
