When I’m here, I try to go to bed when Addie goes to bed so Chad and Nicole can have some time to themselves. That usually means we’re in bed by 8:30 but Addie will play on her tablet for a while and I’ll play on mine, and then we go to sleep. She’s out of school the whole time I’m here so bedtime is a few minutes later than normal.
Last night, we practiced counting to 100 til probably about 9. I told her I wasn’t taking her to eat sushi til she can do it. She should already be able to do it but she has no interest in doing it. So . . she counts to 100 with no mistakes or there’s no sushi.
It doesn’t seem to matter what time I go to bed, if I am in there more than 5 minutes, I’m ready to fall asleep. We were done with our counting, turned over to go to sleep and the wind started blowing. It blew and blew and the windows sounded like they were going to blow out, we could hear things hitting the roof. Addie was scared. I told her there was no scary weather and I like hearing the wind blow. Finally, she fell asleep.
I got up with Speck at 6, then I went back to bed, thinking I would read email and see what’s new on Ravelry but I fell back asleep and slept til 8:30. Didn’t hear Chad leave. Didn’t hear Nicole leave . . didn’t hear anything.
My plan was to block Nicole’s sweater today but I’m going to have to put the mats on her bed and then they can move them to the floor when they get ready to go to bed but Chad went to work halfway in the middle of the night so he should be home around 2:30 and he’s probably going to want a nap so I figured he wouldn’t be too happy to come home and find mats and a wet sweater on his bed.
Addie and I have to go to Walmart and pick up a few groceries. We’ll do that after Nicole goes back to work from lunch. Then we’re going to come home, make a sweet potato pie, make chili for dinner and, by then, it will probably be time to go to bed again.
My day in a nut shell . .

Do you sleep in Addie’s room?

Busy days like this will make the time fly! Enjoy it while you can. She won’t be young for long! It’s amazing how quickly they grow…. My grandson that was just born a few years ago turned 17 just before Christmas!! I really feel like I’m getting old…. 🙂

Call me “old fashioned”, or a fossil, but during the holidays I occasionally like to eat a mincemeat pie. I’ve noticed that down here in the Tucson area, you can’t find them !!! Whether pre-baked at the Village Inn/Baker’s Square restaurants, or Sara Lee, or Marie Calendar’s in the frozen-to-oven categories, there’s no mincemeat pies to be had.
Usually I’m the only one to eat this delicacy. My dear bride, nor my sons like this type of pie.My parents didn’t care for this treat either when I was a young lad…and I’ve not heard about any “mincemeat shortages”, whether real or contrived.
Any pointers on where I might find a purchase-able solution to my craving? …or do I have to purchase the mincemeat in a jar and try baking my own in a pre-made crust?
BTW, a good grade of vanilla ice cream goes as well wih a mincemeat pie as it does with apple or pumpkin !!!
Thank you….
Tony

Sounds like you have been busy, but happy! Hope it continues each day until you leave. By the way, did she make it to 100 with no mistakes.
