Am I the only one thinking of knitting gifts for 2019?
Here are two patterns that are free on Ravelry today. As always, be sure to check to make sure they’re still free before ordering.
I was hoping they would be the same weight and I could use the patterns to make a matching cowl and hat but . . the cowl is sport weight and the hat is bulky weight.
UPDATE: I received this email from Susan Ashcroft, the designer of these patterns:
Just to let you know – both patterns are flexible so you can use the same yarn weight – I just listed the yarn weight that was actually used for each sample item so that the gauge made sense.
So . . the same weight yarns will work for both patterns. Sorry I did not read through the patterns before posting and thanks to Susan Ashcroft for seeing my post, setting me straight and for the free patterns!
The Madelinetosh Work Sock is sport weight and has 400 yards per skein so it’s enough to make a cowl and fingerless mitts and, I have it in my stash so I may get started on a teacher gift . . since I didn’t finish the third pair of mitts this year . . those can go for a teacher’s gift, make the Muchness Cowl and have a set. I’d be real happy to get that done by the end of January but, I may be dreaming! 🙂

You can do it … if you don’t pick up three other things to start. LOL

We’re doing it again – getting the same patterns. I added it to my library and thought about alerting you to it but decided you were vacationing and busy.

I am already planning all kinds of hats to use up some of my single skeins.
