I’m not sure what time Chad & Nicole went to bed last night. They had a lot to do to help Santa. Nicole was up at 5 a.m. and she woke me up 6 to get breakfast going. I made those egg cups that my friend, Nelle, told me about – hash browns in the bottom and sides of muffin cups, cook those til they’re crispy, then pour in scrambled (raw) eggs with seasonings and cheese. I could have mixed the crumbled bacon in with the eggs but we had a vegetarian so I put bacon on top, except not on hers. I had made a fruit bowl last night and added the pears and bananas this morning. It was the easiest breakfast I’ve ever done for a small group and everything was ready to serve at once. Counting Addie, we had 8. I fixed 18 egg muffins and we ended up with 2 left.
I can’t believe I didn’t take pictures of any of it.
The packages were opened.
I reminded Addie that if she got the baby sister she keeps wanting, she’ll only get half as many toys next year and maybe she doesn’t want a baby sister after all. 🙂
I’m so ready for a nap but now we go to Nicole’s grandparents. When Nicole told me that we were all bringing finger foods instead of having a big meal, she and I planned to bring the little toothpick things that you put cheese, then ham, then an olive with a toothpick through it, and I made Chicken Caesar Salad Pinwheels. Then Chad said he wanted something without all the “vegetables” so he smoked salmon and has a tray with salmon, cream cheese, honey mustard and crackers and a separate tray with sliced homemade venison summer sausage (that is delicious) and cheeses.
The way I see it, I can take a 15 minute nap before we have to leave to go to grandma and grandpa’s house so . . that’s what I’m doing!
Hope you’re all enjoying time with family/friends!

Love the street truck tent and the bee keeper Barbie. I got a video of my grand-nephews opening up their presents from me – I think they liked the small transformer trucks and the dinosaur race track. Didn’t see the part about the STEM programming game for the older one. Maybe later he’ll be more enthusiastic about it.

Hmmm, Hash Browns are only available in formed squares with crumbs on the outside Would like to have tried this with my Grandkids

You could shred potatoes, it would be the same thing as what is referred to as “hash browns” in this reference.

Great start to the day! Sometimes 15 minutes is enough to re-energize!
