Remember this ugly planer Chad started working on a couple of days ago?
Every evening he’s spent an hour or so working on it and here’s what it looks like now.
That’s one thing I tried to tell Vince through the years . . if he had a hobby that he could come home from work and immerse himself into, the stress from work wouldn’t hang over him. I’m so happy to see Chad is able to leave work behind, for the most part, and come home, spend time with the family and then go out and work on his wood working or tools.
I’m pretty surprised at how nice this one looks but Chad said they will all clean up and look like this.
Yesterday I was peeling potatoes and I told Chad . . this potato peeler is kinda like a planer. He said “I guess!” but he wasn’t nearly as impressed with my comparison as I was.
This particular one is a 5-1/2. They come in all sizes and, as a collector, you know he wants all sizes! He really should apologize to me after all the bad things he said about my sewing machine collecting through the years. He’s as bad as I was . . but I still love him. 🙂

Chad did a great job cleaning up the plane! I brought some home from my dad’s workshop when we cleaned it out to sell. I had intended to display them in my office (my brothers and I own a woodwork shop) but still have them in a box, now I can’t wait to get started cleaning them up.

We all have our little quirks! But that looks really nice! He sure knows how to take care of his tools!
