Addie got this at school yesterday.
On the back, it says “Don’t let the Grinch steal your Christmas!” It goes on to say “Pour this in your yard on Christmas Eve. The Grinch will see the magic dust in your yard and know you’ve protected your home and family to keep Christmas joy in the air.”
This morning Nicole was telling Addie that we need to sprinkle the dust on the yard on Christmas Eve. Addie was adamant that the Grinch is not real. We kept telling her . . what if he is real? Nope, she was determined we are NOT putting the dust out because there is no Grinch.
Nicole said if it wasn’t so much trouble, on Christmas Eve after Addie goes to bed, she would take all the presents from under the tree and tell Addie the next morning that she should have put the Grinch dust out. I crack up thinking about the look on her face when she runs in to see what Santa left and finds NOTHING under the tree. That would be too mean . . she would never get over that.
We’re not going to do that but it is funny to think about it.

Maybe leave ONE present for each person under the tree? That sweet Addie can be a hard-headed little cuss at times can’t she?

She certainly is determined in her knowledge! My first thought was to fake a Grinch visit, too, but that would be so mean. She does believe in Santa Claus, doesn’t she?
Did she wear her Grinch gloves?

This reminds me of when my boys were young. They got reindeer dust (or reindeer food maybe?)at school, which was oatmeal mixed with glitter. They sprinkled it around
our house on Christmas Eve, and the moon was supposed to shine on the glitter and guide the reindeer to your home. They were so excited to do that!

I guess I’m as warped as you, as I think it would be very funny.

Something similar happened to me when I was a kid and I don’t think I ever got over it. That is why I love to give at Christmas! And other times as well.

One year my child had been a terror. So Santa left switches in her stocking. She got a new attitude.
