How much knitting did I get done on Nicole’s sweater today? Not one stitch! Since I didn’t make any progress today, there’s a slim chance I could finish it as a surprise and give it to her on Christmas. I’ll just work on it in front of her and tell her what I tried to do. It’s the thought that counts and she will appreciate that plus she’s going to love having it finished.
It’s impossible to get a good picture of this sweater while being knitted because the way it’s knitted, it’s so scrunched up . . kinda folded over itself.
This reminds me . . the blocking wires and mats aren’t packed. Going to do that now.
The best thing for me to do is not show Addie the unicorn sweater until I’ve finished her mom’s sweater.
I can’t wait to see Addie. When I was there a couple of months ago, she was wanting to write notes all day. She kept saying “how do you spell this and how do you spell that? She couldn’t spell anything but she knew what she wanted to say so we would spell the word while she was writing her notes. When I was talking to Nicole tonight, she was talking and in the middle of a conversation, she would say e.v.e.r.y and then she’d say a few words to me and then g.r.a.n.d.m.a. I said “You are making no sense!” She said Addie is writing a letter to her friend and I’m having to spell words for her. This evening was the day care part and it was in the community room of the place where Nicole’s grandma and grandpa live so Addie was telling her friend that they were going to see grandma and grandpa and telling her all about the party this evening . . but the friend goes to the same day care and would be at the same party!
Here’s a conversation I overheard while talking to Nicole:
Addie: Mom, where’s the tape?
Nicole: I don’t know.
Addie: Well, how did you wrap packages if you don’t know where the tape is?
Nicole: I guess I knew where it was while I was wrapping packages.
It’s so funny to hear her talking so much and having a bit of a smart mouth. She’s only 6 and it seems like just yesterday, she was a sweet little toddler.

Nicole takes it all in stride nicely, though! =)
