I talked to Nicole this evening and she shed a little light on Addie’s expression.

She opened the package, saw the Barbie shoes . . she already had that package of shoes. Am I supposed to know everything she has?
I told Nicole they could take it back and get something else but she said Addie wanted to keep it. She has multiple Barbies so it’s ok if they have two of the same shoes.
Nicole said when she took that picture and sent it to me, she thought maybe I would think it was a smile. I said “No . . I could hear her saying What the heck??”
Shopping at Walmart, when the same stuff is here and there, what are the chances I won’t get something she already has? Funny girl!

I find this all interesting. An advent calendar has never been part of my family’s Christmas traditions. In fact, I really never heard of the tradition until you started talking about in it.

I remember the FAO Schwartz in San Francisco years ago had a water feature in front. It was a great big cylinder (maybe 1 or 1 1/2 feet in diameter, and taller than me) that was filled with water. It had a stream going up the middle (like a jet pushing the water up), and in the water was hundreds of Barbie shoes! They were going up the middle and down the sides. It was mesmerizing…kind of like a lava lamp of Barbie shoes. I loved it!
So, if Addie gets TOO many… (hee, hee)

I’ve already made two trips to return stuff that I found out they already have. I llive right here close to them and I still can’t keep up with what they do and don’t have!
