When Nicole sent me this picture, I thought this must have been a gift Addie wasn’t real pleased about. I even wrote Nicole and said “What kind of face is that?”
I had to go back and look at my list to see what was the gift for Day #11. It’s Barbie shoes so I know that was a big hit. She must have been aggravated that Nicole was taking her picture. Sometimes, at that age, it doesn’t take much to aggravate one.
This is a little notebook with a unicorn on the cover and I knew she would like that. She loves having a little pen and pad with her all the time. She’s always taking notes, even though up until recently, it was gibberish. Now that she can write, but still cannot spell, she’s constantly . . as in probably 100 times a day . . asking “How do you spell this or that?‘
Notice a new sewing machine behind her? They were at an auction over the weekend and Chad found what he said looked like a brand new Singer 99K machine in a “perfect” cabinet with a sewing bench full of buttons. They got it for $25. They’re both so excited to have it. I think I’ve created hoarders when it comes to old sewing machines. Now they have three that I know of. Chad cleaned up the 99K, ordered new belts, new tensioner parts, oiled it and it’s ready to go. Three sewing machines means Nicole and Addie can sit down with me when I’m there and we can all three be sewing!

Wow, and you don’t eve have to take a machine any more! That is a beauty, and it will last and last and last. What a deal! Maybe Addie’s first face is, “Oh my gosh! I can’t believe it’s Barbie shoes!” LOL

Is that George behind her?
Judy Laquidara says
I don’t know. That doesn’t look like George. He’s kinda faded and floppy these days. Not sure who that is behind her but if I had to guess, I’d say it isn’t George.
