This morning I had to get my tires rotated and all the air checked so Vince said he would go with me. We stopped first and paid our property taxes. That’s painful but necessary. I wanted to run by Merle Norman and get some night cream for my face. I knew most everything in the area where Merle Norman was located had moved because the property is in the process of being sold so I wasn’t sure they were still there and they weren’t. They had a note on the door with their new address and it’s actually more on our side of town . . even though “town” is pretty small.
Next stop was the tire shop so while the tires were being rotated, we walked over to Taco Casa and got tacos. It’s’ “Taco Tuesday” so they were $1.29.
From there, we made our way back home, stopping at Merle Norman on the way. Vince waited in the car .. thank goodness. I don’t buy makeup often but I needed several things. I got in the car and Vince said “Could I have bought another 3D printer for what you just spent?” I said “One . . maybe two if you’re buying the small ones!” I brought that conversation to an end before he asked any more questions.
Then we ran by for our mechanic to check my antifreeze since I’ll be headed to MO soon. The guy asked Vince when was the last time he flushed the system. Apparently that’s supposed to be done every 5 years. Hmmm . . never! So I have to take the car in Monday and get that done. I never like having work done on the car before a trip. I wish he would have just checked it . . I’m sure it’s ok, and then flushed it when I get back home in January.
Back home . . fixing to go unload the eggs out of the freeze dryer and get it ready for another, very exciting project!

Don’t jinx yourself by saying, “I’m sure it’s ok…” 🙂

Really! It’s getting changed before I go so it should be ok. I just don’t like having anything done to the car right before a trip. I guess there were too many bad mechanics in my past.

I’m with you on the mechanic issue, Judy. I thought I’d be smart and have everything done on the truck I used for towing the 5th wheel. I only had a 900 mile trip, so how bad would it have been to wait? But I trusted the people. Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! I didn’t get any further than Livingston, TX to Leesville, LA, and the transmission was leaking everywhere. On a holiday weekend! It would probably have been fine if I left it alone. =P At least flushing the coolant system shouldn’t be too dangerous. =)
