Last week, Vince said “We haven’t had waffles in a long time!” OK . . I get your message. This morning we had waffles. The waffle maker stays on a top shelf in the laundry room and I can’t reach it without my little step stool.
Me: If you will get the waffle maker down, I’ll make waffles.
Vince: Today?
Me: Yes!
He was up and out of his chair in a flash! He said “For something this important, you don’t have to ask me twice”.
This is an old post about the waffle maker. It’s a discontinued model but if you’re looking for one, I highly recommend this one and I’m not sure but there may be a newer one that’s similar. I’ve had this one since 2012 and even though it’s been a couple of months since we had waffles, we do use it a lot.
I have a sourdough waffle recipe that I like but this is Vince’s favorite waffle recipe so that’s what we had this morning.
The best part . . leftover waffles.
I believe chicken and waffles will be on our menu for Monday! Leftover waffles are also great to serve for another breakfast . . just pop them in the toaster and they’re fresh as they were this morning.

I need to make waffles for dinner some evening…if I do that, I also need to get some bacon… 🙂

I do have a waffle maker – that’s one thing you mentioned that I have! LOL It is older than 2012, and it is round, and I love waffles in it, but I haven’t made any lately. When I do make them, I make a big batch and finish all the batter, making freezer waffles that last a while.
