The mitts I thought I could finish on Wednesday . . here it is Friday morning and I’m not even halfway done. It didn’t help that I slept the entire day yesterday. When I went to be Wednesday night, I wasn’t feeling great so I went to bed before 11 p.m., which I never do. I kept tossing and turning and I was disturbing Vince so I got up and went to the other bedroom. I knew my late night friend would still be up so I called her and we talked an hour or so. By the time we hung up, I was feeling worse but went to sleep. I’m pretty lucky in that when I’m feeling bad, I can almost always go to the sleep and sleep til I feel better. I woke up a few times during the night. My side was really hurting . . that’s when the ER co-pay started keeping me awake.
Vince got up about 6 and came to see why I was in the other room. I got up, sat up with him for a while. Went and put the pizza sauce in the freeze dryer, came back inside, ate a banana and went back to bed. That was probably around 9:00. When I woke up next, it was 4:30 p.m.
So that didn’t leave much time for knitting. When I got up, I felt a little better but by 6 or so, I was feeling completely back to normal. I got about 4 hours of knitting in, did a few loads of laundry, worked on organizing the yarn . . mostly putting back things I’ve pulled and decided not to use.
The pattern is Susie Rogers’ Reading Mitts. I really like this pattern. I’ve made it a few times before and it’s a free pattern.
The yarn, Miss Babs’ Yowza, is such a beautiful color (Catherine) and it’s soft and such a joy to knit.
Since I’m going to let Addie decide the recipient for these mitts, I don’t even know who will end up with them. Maybe she’ll choose me!

Wow, sounds like a miserable bunch of hours! The knitting is moving fast now, though.
