Edit: Not sure if it’s the same one but Walmart has one that’s quite a bit less $$. It’s here. It looks the same to me but I can’t be sure. The one I use is the one in the link below but for about $30 less, I’d probably get the one from Walmart.
It’s called a Maxam Vegetable Chopper.
I had asked on the blog about other kitchen gadgets that I need and don’t know anything about and a reader sent the link to this. Here’s a blog post I did about it when I first got it. I still use this thing all the time. Hardly a day goes by that I don’t use it. It’s so quick to use, I feel it’s much safer than some of the hand grater/choppers. It’s super easy to clean. The only drawback for me is that it kinda takes up a lot of room because there’s no place I have to store it and get to it easily since I use it so often.
I almost didn’t order it because as a grater, it’s rather expensive but I’m so glad I did.
As you might imagine, I have several food processors. I have an old Cuisinart that is a diehard but it’s super heavy, not so easy to clean (several parts come apart and there are super sharp edges). I have the food processor attachment to my Bosch mixer. There’s a Ninja processor/chopper but no matter what size job I’m doing, I reach for the Maxim chopper first.
I do love it and I thank the reader who told me about it. There’s probably still time for Santa to get this and then it wouldn’t cost anything!! 🙂

I’ve had a Maxim since the late ’80s. I loved it when I bought it but the shortcoming is the way it is secured to a counter. It has a rubber diaphragm that you are supposed to be able to get to adhere to the countertop with the flip of that handle. I researched replacing the base a couple of years ago but it was pretty pricey to get a new base. At least for me it was pricey….over $100. So, it has been sitting in my pantry for all these many years unused. They’ve obviously re-engineered the base. Does it hold? or does it require 2 people to operate. One to hold and one to crank? I remember it was the bomb when it worked!

The model I have definitely sticks. It isn’t going anywhere. All you do is mash the rubber legs to the counter and it’s there for good. In face, I can’t just pull it up. I have to use my fingers and peel them away from the counter. Sometimes I peel one up, then by the time I get the other two done, the first one has stuck itself back to the counter.

These must be made by KitchenAid or the company that makes KA. I have an attachment for my KA mixer and those metal cup pieces fit into it for various grating, slicing, etc. Had to look again when I saw your photo.

Yes, I was thinking they look exactly like the attachments for my KitchenAid.

I bought a $20 Ninja food processor from seeing it on your blog. I use that thing every day. I love it!

I grew up using one by Salad Master – it had three legs with rubber suction cups. We used it for everything and loved it! When I had my own family, I found my own and we used it often!

I have an older version that is similar, and love it, and use it all the time. My daughter-in-law found the one that you showed, and she and my son love it too! My son loves to cook and was happy to have one of his favourite tools from home come to live with them!!!
