I was a little under the weather last week, so not as much was accomplished as was planned, so I will just speak to a few of the few highlights.
First on the agenda was TV watching. I know that’s not an “accomplishment”, I hear it at least 5 times a day, but this was a really good week for football. The Houston Texans played Monday night and Dallas Thursday night. Both won so it was a good week for the Texas pro teams. Then on Saturday the college playoff games just HAD to be watched. Of course, Clemson was the big one for me, but living in Texas, I had to watch the Longhorns and of course, the Alabama/Georgia game was a must. You know I really dislike Georgia, but I had to root for them because it might be beneficial to Clemson in the playoffs.
As you may know, we watch TV by streaming through the internet. The only problems is that the local channels are not offered with our current subscription service. We’re too far from civilization and there are too many hills for an antenna to work here. A couple of the games were only being televised on ABC so what was I to do? Hulu to the rescue!! They now offer live TV in our area for the same price I am paying for the other subscription service (DirecTV Now). We are giving Hulu a one week try, but I am pretty sure we will end up switching to Hulu as our main TV provider.
Working in the garden took a little time this week. Since it hasn’t rained in awhile, I had to do a little watering and cut back some old growth. The mushroom garden also had to be watered. When I was in Walmart this week . . I didn’t plan to go, honest, but Judy needed (let me repeat, Judy needed) more canning jars. While there, I remembered I never made Cat’s scratch pole. It had been planned for the cat tree so I purchased the necessary materials. It was completed Friday. Oh, by the way, Cat is now using all the platforms on the cat tree. It took her awhile but she seems to like it.
Finally, I have been 3D printing more Christmas decorations. I am learning these printers can be pretty finicky. But being an expert on dealing with finicky (nothing more will be said on this topic for the sake of a happy and long marriage), I am learning to adapt to its variability. Hummm, sounds like the good topic for a whole post when I feel brave.
Tree harvesting is the main thing on the agenda for this coming week. I need to keep the mushroom garden moving along. Hey, it’s the holidays you know, so don’t expect too much in the form of real work to get done.

I am really looking forward to your new Christmas decorations. Watching football is wonderful, especially from a warm house, and the bathroom is only feet away. I look forward to your posts and enjoy hearing your thoughts and what you have done or planned to do.

Very curious to know if a 3D printer could print vintage sewing machine parts such as bobbins for a Featherweight. I look forward to your posts as well.

I think you will like Hulu with live TV. We dumped DirecTV(satellite) a couple months ago & it’s all gone well. Except for the hubby adjusting to a new remote & new system. Since it saves us a bunch of $$ I signed us up for Netflix as well so now we have more to watch than ever before and still saving $$.
Judy Laquidara says
We only had DirecTV Now .. not the full DirecTV. Ours is a scaled down version and comes through the internet and it’s the same price as Hulu Live TV so we won’t be saving anything but I’m not the TV watcher so whatever makes him happy makes me happy. (Judy)

I see where others have printed bobbins. I will have to give it a try but I might have to use a different kind of plastic than what I am currently using.
Thanks for asking.

My husband is anxiously waiting to read what response you get from the Instant Pot company. We have two and have purchased one for each of our children and grandchildrens’ homes. So far no accidents but one never knows! With heart issues it’s good to find that fine balance between activity and TV watching! Don’t over do either! ! 😉

I like the normal Hulu, so I imagine this one will be an improvement over what you have. Just a guess. That is one lucky wildcat, and a heck of a scratching post!
