For the past few days, I’ve been freezing chocolate milk, strawberry milk, strawberry yogurt and eggnog.
I can’t remember the brand of eggnog we usually get but we couldn’t find it . . probably because we don’t remember the brand and didn’t know what we were looking for! 🙂 But, we found this Darigold brand and it’s so good. I was afraid Vince was going to think it was too sweet but he said he liked it.
There are 6 of the molds and I probably froze each one 10 times so I had lots of little shapes. I would dump them into a zipper bag. I had a bag for the chocolate milk, a bag or the strawberry milk and a bag for the eggnog and had been keeping those in the home freezer. I turned the freeze dryer on to freeze ahead of time but the room was warm and I was having to work really fast to keep the little shapes from melting.
Getting the shapes frozen and then onto the trays before they melted was about as much trouble as the sweet potato pie filling. I’m ready for something “normal”. Dog food is up next. It will be easy and there will be no complaints from Rita!

So these are going to be snacks? For about a week? LOL The egg nog sounds yummy. I haven’t bought any yet. There’s one dairy in town that is supposed to have really good milk, but to me, it tastes like milk, and I’m not paying $2 a gallon extra for that. I will occasionally pay a little more for their ice cream on sale, and I’m thinking I’ll try their egg nog, too.
