We had to make a quick trip to Abilene today. We didn’t plan to shop . . but Vince wanted to run by The Dollar Tree. The store there is much bigger and has so much more variety than our little store has. I ran over to JoAnn’s, which is next door, to see if they had the pattern for Addie’s vest. I ordered one last night but this looks like a pattern I may use a lot so I don’t mind having two and . . who knows when the one I ordered will arrive.
They also had a very similar fabric to what I bought yesterday but it doesn’t feel quite as nice and the “furry” side isn’t as plush but it’s machine washable. I figured that was a better choice so I got that.
Vince bought all kinds of little trinket, junky type things for Addie . . a Santa that plays music, a Christmas tic-tac-toe game, several puzzles. If we don’t stop, I’m going to have to rent a U-Haul to get there! I’ve bought most of the supplies for making cookies and I’ll take all that with me. First, groceries are less here, especially if I buy at Aldi. Second, I won’t have to waste my time with them shopping.
Let’s hope we have a finished unicorn sweater to take!

Too bad that JoAnn’s didn’t have your sparkily vest fabric! Yep, I think that car is filling up!

so jealous of your christmas trip for time with kids and grand… i do love that pattern, wouldn’t mind finding it in my size! my granddaughter just passed the size 14, she would have had fun dancing around in it!

A woman with a plan and a mission. Are you in the count down yet? My car is always full when I go to my daughter’s and she is only 20 mils away. But, then again, we do not visit often.
I remember my grandmother (did not drive, lived 11 miles out on the highway) never took me out to eat or to a movie BUT, there was NO place else I would have wanted to be. Great memories.

You will get it done. If not, there is still plenty of cold weather left for her to get to wear it! I thought Vince was the one who was Bah Humbug! Sounds to me like he really loves that little girl! And loves doing things for her. That is what Christmas is all about, the little children. Like the song says “from 1 to 93” or something like that!!
