None of these ideas are my own so don’t be telling me how smart I am . . unless you just want to make me feel smart! 🙂
On the freeze drying Facebook group, someone posted the other day about making eggnog bites and chocolate milk bites. I was all over those ideas. The first thing I had to do was order candy molds. I ordered the hearts, stars and seashell molds and they arrived already (obviously!). I also ordered cute little animals and owls, pigs and fish. Those cute little molds can be used for so much – candy, ice cubes, all kinds of things in the freeze dryer, so I didn’t feel bad at al ordering them. But, I don’t usually feel too bad about the things I order. 🙂
Because I was too cheap to buy chocolate milk, I just poured chocolate syrup into milk, then used a squeeze bottle to fill these little cavities.
There are my little pizza tables. I stick those in the corners so I can stack the trays. If you look at the top picture, you’ll see it’s stacked on top of the red/green molds.
These will go into the household freezer, then I’ll dump them into a zipper bag, keep them frozen until I get enough to fill the freeze dryer. I can’t wait to try these, as well as eggnog bites. I’ll also be able to use these for yogurt bites.
As always, there will be a followup post once this is all finished.

Oh, now I’m envious! Those sound wonderful! Please, when you eat them, tell me they are awful. LOL

How cute! I picture freeze-drying as shrinking the food, but those little shapes will still come through.

Ya’ know the way I see it you do not make it a chore to produce these food products but fun. Oh the anticipation of how cute they will turn out!!

I am this close (index almost touching thumb) to purchasing a freeze dryer. Are you allowed to give out the FB group you like on freeze dryers? I’d like to follow it for awhile. Thank you.
