Vince has been wanting to make his own bourbon cream. It has sweetened condensed milk in it so I say . . make a double batch!
I’m not going to deal with the cranberries today. Yesterday I processed and canned 21 quarts of juice – that’s three separate batches. The pot I’m using for the juice will hold 6 – 12 oz. bags and from each bag, I get 7 quarts of juice. By the time I cook the cranberries down, strain the juice, put it in jars and can it . . it takes a while. I had planned to do 12 bags yesterday – two batches, but then I figured I’d do one more batch and then I decided to make the cranberry salsa and then the cobbler and I was pretty tried so I told Vince, the kitchen is his today.
We’re supposed to be having road roast for dinner but I’m fixing leftover gumbo . . that will almost totally keep me out of the kitchen.
The only thing I plan to do today is work on the unicorn sweater. Last night I asked Vince . . are we going anywhere tomorrow. He said no. He always says no and we always go somewhere.
There’s a new restaurant in town. It’s Sam’s Southern Eatery. It’s kinda supposed to be a Louisiana type seafood restaurant. I’m not sure if they opened yesterday or the day before. Vince decided he wanted to eat there yesterday but dang . . we had just finished breakfast and I wasn’t hungry. The parking lot was packed . . every spot was taken and people were waiting for the spots. I convinced him that going to a new restaurant the first day they open is probably not a good idea so we came home without eating out. Thank goodness!
I said all that to say . . I won’t be surprised if he ends up wanting to go to Sam’s today. We’ll see! One thing I am fairly sure about — we are NOT going to Aldi and buying more cranberries!

I’m having trouble processing the word “road” in this sentence. I can’t figure out what it is supposed to be. Help!!

Oh, I thought it was going to be roadkill. LOL I hope you really did stay home and out of the kitchen today! You did a lot yesterday and deserve a break. I usually wait at least a week before I go to a new place.

I read about the Rum Chata and had to try it. I love it! Tastes like Rum Eggnog to me they didn’t have a smaller bottle so I had to get the large bottle 1.75. Costs a lot but so glad I bought it! Just wanted to thank you for you recipes and recommendations of so many things! Please keep them. Coming Judy.
