What did we ever do before Aldi came to town?
My first mistake, and believe me . . I’ve learned this lesson: This morning for breakfast, I served fresh cranberry juice. Vince was hurrying up to finish eating. He wanted to go to Aldi to get more cranberries. That’s easy for him to say. First, his knee isn’t hurting . . every step he takes and mine is about to kill me. Second, he’s not the one whose knitting is interrupted by cranberry juice! I am thankful that I don’t have to peel them and chop them . . it could be worse.
I wanted their Cheese Advent Calendar but Vince was not wanting to get it because I’m leaving on the 19th or 20th. Big deal . . starting about the 15th, have two samplings of cheese per night. I told him I’d go back to Aldi and get more cranberries if he would get the advent calendar and he agreed.
While in there, I mentioned . . if we bake some brie, I can make a topping with the cranberry pulp, a little honey, toasted walnuts and jalapenos! He was all for that so we got brie, the advent calendar and the cranberries . . and something for Nicole for Christmas and I see two bottles of BBQ sauce.
I am so ready to be done with cranberries and I’m not even halfway done yet.

So I’m guessing you have a high powered juicer of some sort. I always enjoyed cranberrry juice but juices aren’t in my eating plan any more. I do make a lovely cranberry compote I can indulge in. There may be a trip to Aldi in my future.

Did you say Aldi has cranberries for 99 cents a bag. As I recall, that’s at least a 5 year old price or what I paid a long time ago. I love cranberry and orange muffins this time of year.

Yes, here they’re .99 per bag but a reader on the east side of the country said their Aldi has them for .69/bag.

Our Aldi has been open just over a year now, and I go there every week. I know several people who don’t care for it–their loss!

Cranberry juice is very good for you! But lots of work. I have a Juiceman and I don’t use it like I should!!

I didn’t check mine, because I figured that was last week’s pricing, but now I’m going to have to stop tomorrow and check it when I’m out!

So sorry to learn the knee is agravating again. Mine has been complaining this week. After bragging about getting an injection almost every two years, I may have to call for one Monday. That will lack 3 weeks of being just one year. I am putting off surgery as long as possible! I wish you got the relief I do. BTW, do you have a cranberry salsa recipe? We have one we eat as a salad. Everyone who has tried it loves it!
