I cannot tell you how happy I am to be done with the colorwork. Last night, when I got to the point of having 15 rows left, I told myself I could stop . . 15 rows could easily be done “tomorrow” but then I knew it would be so much better for me to finish it so I stayed up til it was done.
I still have to add about 2-1/2″ to the top before I start shaping the neck. The unicorn has all kinds of decorations to be added. Fringe on the main, bobbles which are stuffed. There are eyes and ears and the horn. It’s going to be a very cute unicorn when it’s done.
The pattern called for a big colorwork square on the back and then a long fringed tail but I figured, at kindergarten age, that tail might not last through the first day and that would leave a big white square on the back so I just put the unicorn front on the front and am skipping the back colorwork.
Did I say I’m glad to be done with the colorwork? Yes . . I am so glad!

I heard a rumor you are glad to be done with the colorwork. =) I can see how cute it will be with all the doodads added on. Leaving the back plain is a good plan, I think.

if you don’t tell Addie the tail was supposed to be there, she will never know the difference and will love it the way you make it.

This is going to be so pretty when you finish it! We missed you this morning knitting at Vida’s. Pilar has no internet until tomorrow! She was having such a bad day yesterday and was very grateful for me picking her up. She needed to get away!
