Last night I started Addie’s unicorn sweater for the third time. I decided . . she is going to love it. The unicorn seems big and misshapen to me but it has fringe for the mane and it has a puffy looking horn. It’s a nicely decorated unicorn so I’m not stressing over whether the color work looks nice or doesn’t look nice . . I’m just doing it.
Some of it will block out but you can see how the transition between colors isn’t smooth. I’e never seen it great when doing colorwork from the purl side but, again, Addie isn’t going to notice that.
I think I’m nuts! I know this Shibui Silk Cloud is difficult to work with but I decided to hold it with the Cascade 220 and, as usual, it had me pulling my hair out.
You can see all the little hairs on this yarn . . just waiting to grab anything they can and cause a huge tangle of threads.
About midnight, I’d had enough so I cut all the threads, am going to weave them in and start over with no tangles. We’ll see how long that lasts. I’m so hoping to finish the colorwork before I go to bed tonight.

Addie will love it! She will never know that it is not “perfect” according to you. I think it looks great!

I once heard oopsies in a quilt can’t be seen driving by at 55. Addie will look at it pure joy and not with a knitter’s eyes. Knit and enjoy the process knowing it will bring her joy.
