It hasn’t been a bad day . . just kinda funny.
First, Vince loaded up the pickup to go to the landfill this morning. He hadn’t been gone lone and I heard him back. I wasn’t paying a lot of attention to the time but I thought . . It’s Veteran’s Day. The landfill is probably closed. Then I saw him leave again and in a few minutes, he was back, then he left again and was gone about 10 or 15 minutes.
He came back ..
The first time he tried to go out, the gate wouldn’t open. He thought it was the thing you run over when leaving that opens it so he came back and got the opener out of his car. Nope, that didn’t open it either. So he had to come back, get tools, take something apart so he could open the gate manually. Went to the dump. They were closed. Came home, checked the battery at the gate and it was fine. He called the gate opener people, talked to them. They told him some things to check. He went back down there to check it and noticed the piston that opens the gate working. Hooked it all back up . . working fine and we didn’t do anything except go buy a new marine battery that he never used.
We aren’t the only ones with a gate that won’t open. Tried to go to a friend’s house and their gate won’t open either. Crazy
Totally different but equally as crazy . . last night I had started Addie’s unicorn sweater and wasn’t crazy about it so I ripped it all out. Had another brilliant idea this morning, started knitting again. Got about three hours into knitting it and nope . . didn’t like that idea either so I ripped it out once again.
I’m not sure either of us has accomplished a single thing today.
Oh, yes . . we did. Vince got a heat light out and put it high enough above a big piece of cardboard where Cat likes to sleep . . high enough it won’t catch the cardboard on fire but low enough to generate some heat. We did that last year and she was ok with it. Vince said she was apprehensive about the light but once she realized it was warm, she was happy to curl up under it.
Feels like 22 right now. The wind cuts right through you out there. As always, I know many of you would be thrilled with 22 but for us here this far south, this is cold weather!

It’s unseasonably cold here in Arizona tonight too–not what we were hoping for!

You are colder than we are here where I live in MI.

No, to hit thrilled, I’d have to be in Phoenix with their 70s highs and 40s and 50s lows this week. LOL But I’m happy with what I have right now. Not the best, but not the worst, and I’m not waking up to either snow or ice.

Ok, I’ve already had enough winter and have already seen it snow in Texas……so where is Summer.

Has Cat tried her tree yet? I bet when she discovers that, she will love it!
