Most days the “Memories” that show up on Facebook make me smile. This morning, this one showed up and brought tears.
Old Speck
He got very grumpy and snippy in his last years . . I guess we all do . . but he was such a good dog. I don’t know if we’ll ever get another dachshund. We only need one dog. Plus, Rita is not friendly with other dogs now. She might would get used to a puppy but . . two dogs cost more than we need to be spending and traveling with one dog, especially a blind dog, is about all we can handle.
I’ll always miss old Speck!

I feel the same about the memories and sometimes just avoid them because of Maisy and Max. It’s too hard to see them. This past week, I saw them as fresh little puppies from 16 years ago and teared up! Hugs to you!!!

I loved my last cat – I haven’t seen one I wanted since she died, and that was at least 15 years ago, probably more. My son has two that are sweethearts, but I’m not bonded with them. They are his therapy cats and they don’t come in my part of the house.
