Since Addie wants several pairs of mittens, I was looking at patterns and found these Aurora Unicorn Mittens on Ravelry. They don’t look hard to make and it’s DK weight yarn so they should go quickly. We’re going to look for yarn at JoAnn’s and Hobby Lobby today and if I don’t find any, I have time to order it, get it and get the mittens made while I’m here. I was thinking I might can find a couple of solids that go with the striped yarn, make two pairs of mittens – maybe a pink pair and a red pair, depending on the variegated/striped yarn I find and then I can make a hat or two using the leftover yarn.
I found the Cupcakes Knit Cap so that’s the pattern I’ll use for the hats. Nicole has her pom pom maker so she can do those. I do not like making pom poms!
Hopefully we’ll find yarn in Joplin and I’ll be able to get started on these and get them done! Mitten and hat weather is almost here in MO.

Those are the cutest mittens, and the hat will be a great completion to the set. I can hardly wait to see what you found, or if you have to order, what you order.

I just love those cute mittens. Addie is like a lot like I was in school. My mom made me everything and so no one else ever had the stuff I had. I loved it. One year she made me mittens. I lost one when I was living in Alaska when first married. I just was sick. I hope Nicole save all this kind of stuff for her grandchildren . It to will happen just watch. Children grow up so fast. In just a blink of and eye.
