How do you even guess how many projects to take along when you’re going to be gone for three weeks? Nicole and Chad will mostly be working. Addie will be in school. I’ll spend probably one day finishing the handwork on the girls’ flower girl dresses and then . . time to myself. Addie is going to be out of school at least two days when I”m there so when you figure six days will be weekends when Nicole and Addie will be home, two days she’ll be out of school, Chad will probably be off at least four days during the week and he and I will do things together, I’m hoping to spend a couple of days with the realtor looking at houses, and one day in Joplin with a friend . . that’s 15 days so that only leaves 7 days of being home alone. Maybe I don’t need so many knitting projects!
I always take way more than I use but I never know what I’m going to want to work on. In the evenings when everyone is home, if I have time to work on knitting, it needs to be simple things. So, I’ll take a few complex things, and a few simple things and . . don’t tell Vince but I can always buy yarn and have it sent there. Done it before! 🙂
I’m taking yarn for a couple of sweaters. The “It Takes a Guild Sweater” . . still not sure which yarn I’m going to use so I’m bringing two yarns . . lots of yarn because it’s a big sweater.
I’m taking yarn for Throwback. If I can get past the colorwork, it will be a no brainer. I’m taking Fern & Feather. Same – get past the colorwork and it will be mindless knitting. I’m taking the yarn and beads for Soli de Gloria. No part of that one will be mindless knitting. I’m taking the leftover striping yarn from my Undulance socks to make a pair of socks for Addie. I have my Hue Shift Afghan, which is totally mindless but I will be surprised if I work on it.
One thing I’d really like to make at least a little progress on is the Leftovers Cowl.
I’m a very long way from finishing that but it surely would be nice to make some good progress on it.
I also love that the Leftovers Cowl and yarn are kept in a bag sent to me by a blog reader. Even Boots got a foot and a part of his tail in the picture!
Let’s hope I get at least a few things done while I’m gone.

Hi Judy! I sent you the bag and I’m so glad you are using it!! Have fun in Missouri!

I love that bag. It’s so sturdy!

With that much free time I would be doing some serious house instead of knitting.
Judy Laquidara says
There are so few houses here that fit what we want (actually, as of now . . there are ZERO) so there’s no serious house hunting to be done with nothing on the market we’d consider buying.

Good luck on the house hunt while there, sounds like a good time with the family too!

Safe travels to you and have a lot of fun!

You will get plenty done! Be sure to get rest as well. You deserve a break and I think, even though you love them, you will need some time to yourself during the day. That way you can relax and unwind!!

If you don’t it won’t be from lack of possibilities! =) You might even find another project for whichever yarn you don’t use on the Guild one.

Wishing safe travels for you and fun 3 weeks.
