The Empty Ice Cream Carton

Earlier this week, the health department or whomever had gone to Addie’s school and talked about dental hygiene. Nicole was talking to me yesterday and told me a funny story.

Yesterday morning Addie wanted to floss her teeth so she asked Nicole for some floss. Nicole and Chad use those little stick things instead of just floss so she gave Addie one and showed her how to use it. Nicole said when Addie finished, she said “What do I do with it now?” Nicole told her to throw it in the trash and she said . . as soon as I said “throw it in the trash, I knew that was a bad idea!”

The night before, after Addie was in bed, Chad wanted ice cream. Nicole told him there was some in the freezer so he went out to get the carton and someone (and it wasn’t Granny!) had eaten all the ice cream and returned the empty carton to the freezer. It had to have been Addie.

Chad was really hungry for ice cream so he ran to Dairy Queen and got ice cream for himself and Nicole and . . the empty ice cream containers were in the trash.

Addie said “Well . . it looks like SOMEONE had ice cream without me!” Nicole told her “Well, it looks like SOMEONE ate all the ice cream in the carton and put the empty carton back in the freezer!” Addie just shrugged and said “Hmm!” I can see her doing that. She shrugs her left shoulder and kinda shakes her head like “I do not have a clue what you’re talking about!” And . . I’m pretty sure she’d like to say “And you probably don’t know what you’re talking about either!”

She’s a funny girl but she is a handful.
