A million times a day, I keep telling myself . . a watched pot never boils. It isn’t true . . a watched pot will boil but it seems to take forever when you’re watching.
Now that Vince has agreed that we can buy a small house in MO, I keep watching and watching and refreshing and watching. There hasn’t been a new house listed that interested me in over two weeks. I was so hoping to find something when I’m there in a few weeks but unless there’s some big housing turnaround there, and several new listings in our price range, I may not have a single house to look at. There aren’t a huge number of houses for sale and there aren’t many reasons for people to move in and out so . . patience, my dear!
My goal is to have a place where we can celebrate Christmas together in 2019 so I have plenty of time but I want it NOW.
We’ve talked to two CPAs and got the same answer twice to our tax questions so I think that’s all resolved. All we’re waiting for now is a cute little small house to come on the market. I have to stop sitting and staring at the real estate pages online. I’m not accomplishing much and there’s nothing I can do to make that house appear . . until it appears.

Can’t find one you like then build you one. That way you get exactly what you want where you want it. Make it close enough Chad can keep a watchful eye then you will also have a reason to go more often. If is is small it shouldn’t take that long to build. You also can make it very energy effecient.

In these parts, a lot of properties aren’t listed through real estate …. for sale by owner … ads on bulletin boards in stores or by word of mouth. Hope you find something that is right for you … Good luck!

Very rare to find one for sale by owner there. With us being long distance purchasers, I’d probably only deal with a realtor anyway. I don’t want to be getting inspections and surveys and all that scheduled. But, I do check the classified ads there and Chad and Nicole are watching for signs.

Not a chance. Houses there sell for less than $80 per square foot and if you build one, it’s about $125 per square foot. Not a good move for a house that’s temporary. Chad lives in town and few, if any lots available. It’s an old town and any lots that are for sale are in subdivisions where the lots are way pricey and there’s a minimum square footage that I don’t want to have to meet.
It doesn’t matter where we end up, I’ll never build a house again.

It will work out and the perfect one will pop up at the right time!

You and your house are on my prayer list. Moira found one. Jenny Reynolds found one. You will, too.
