It never hurts to go searching for the yarn you need. I just remembered that Madelinetosh has added back a few old colors. I looked at Eat, Sleep, Knit’s website and they have it in Oak. I ordered four skeins. That will give me 13 skeins, or 2,600 yards which should be more than I need, plus enough to make a swatch.
I had my heart set on using the Vintage. Now let’s just hope the dye lots are close enough that I can alternate skeins and make it work.
I think I’ll hold off swatching with Stonehedge til the additional skeins of Oak arrive.
Maybe Madelinetosh never did discontinue Oak. Maybe I just thought they did. Weird . . but I’m hopeful I’ll be able to use the new skeins with my old skeins.

I just did a quick search on Ravelry for Mad Tosh Vintage Oak. I’ve had success finding a skein (for sale) in other people’s stash to match yarn I’m short on for a project, I figured it was worth a few minutes to check. I was impressed on how many people have Oak in their stashes, I was also impressed on how many do not want to part with it. I then checked on a color I have one skein of, Whiskey, and out of three pages of people with it in their stash, no one wanted to sell/trade theirs. Knitters love their Madeline Tosh. Glad you found some!

Oak sounds like such a lovely color! When I went to look at it, it is a lovely color, but not at all what I expected! =)
