I just asked Vince if he remembers it ever being this cold in September and he said yes. I don’t but I probably say this every year.
According to Accuweather, it’s cooler here than in Nevada, MO and NY, NY. Weird!
I went out about 4 a.m. with Rita. It was drizzling, a north wind was blowing and it was 61°. I came back in the house and grabbed another quilt for the bed. It didn’t help that the bedroom windows were open. They still are and I need to get up and close them or turn the heater on. Heat in September? I have a hard time believing I’m even thinking about that. Not happening but it’s probably about 65° in the house right now. The heat will come on at 64°. Vince will say “What the heck? Is that the heater?” I will say “It came on by itself! I didn’t do it!” and hopefully he will leave it on. I think having lived here for 7 years, my blood is thin and I get cold easier than I used to.
We still laugh that when we moved here in August, it was probably late September and people were wearing jackets. Having been in MO for four winters, we had gotten a bit more used to the cold but now, I’m build a fire in the fireplace if Vince would let me. He won’t!
Maybe I’ll just put on a pair of wool socks, a sweatshirt and get busy knitting.

It was 45 degrees this morning when I went to take Jordy for a walk. There was even a little bit of frost on the car. You better start knitting some heavier weight sweaters. Crazy!

I saw that! I have your town on my iPhone weather list. =) Truthfully, I’m a little jealous. It was still about 88 here today as a high and 73 right now, at getting close to midnight. Your heat isn’t electric? Maybe you need a space heater that is, because that’s practically free, right?

My birthday is on the 30th and I remember several years when that North wind greeted me. I’m not a cold weather person so it has never been a good birthday gift.

Sounds wonderful to me–we’re still in the 90s!
