Yarn to be used for my Rime sweater arrived today. Here’s the pattern link on Ravelry. Yarn from Denmark can get delivered to my house in 7 days. That’s amazing. The yarn is a light fingering weight and I got enough to make a sweater for barely over $30. That price includes shipping to the U.S. Additionally, the yarn is 70% wool/30% silk. I keep looking at the receipt and wondering how I can get yarn for that price. Everyone who has used it seems to love it. The yarn is Holst-Garn Tide.
Tide is a lightweight yarn, so it’s great for slightly oversized (or greatly oversized) patterns. The Rime sweater pattern calls for 7 – 9″ positive ease, meaning make it 7 – 9″ larger than your bust measurements.
The main yarn is the lighter green on the right, Moss, and the darker green on the right, Forest, will be the accent.
I grabbed a grocery bag, put the yarn in the bag and got it tagged for the Rime sweater project. I’ll find a better bag for it later but, for now, it’s together in a bag.
This is a good time to remind you that I use Knit Companion so I don’t have to keep paper patterns with me. An iPad or Android tablet, depending on the platform software you purchase, is all you need once you purchase the pattern on Ravelry. Knit Companion truly makes knitting so much easier. So far, it hasn’t helped me finish projects, but it sure makes following patterns, especially charts, easier.

Have you ever made plastic project bags? I use clear heavy vinyl and colored zippers and I can make 6-10 out of 1 yard of vinyl from Hobby Lobby. They make great project bags for knitting or quilt projects. Size depends on use, but several are 11×14.
