Today was a great mail day. Two packages of yarn and a package of green beads arrived. Because it’s so hard to judge colors online, I ordered four different green beads. The photo was taken outside and the colors, especially the yarn, aren’t real true. How are we supposed to pick green bead if the yarn doesn’t even look green?
The bright green beads at the bottom are the ones that most closely match the ones we all liked on the sample the other day.
The beads at the top may be my new favorite but I’m not sure I love any of them.
This is the sample I posted the other day.
Looking at it all, the more I think about it, one of the raspberry beads may win out over the green beads. The bead that’s second from left, one I had initially not liked, may end up being my first choice.
I have two full skeins of the yarn and shouldn’t need more than about 1-1/4 skeins for this project. I will knit up a swatch and use some of the beads, especially several of the green beads, and use some of the other beads. Then I will make a decision, or, together we will make a decision!
The pattern I will be using is Soli deo Gloria, which is a free pattern on Ravelry. This is another Anna Victoria/By the Lily Pond pattern. Her patterns are only charted, and are so easy to follow. They are so interesting to knit that even intricate lace shawls hold my interest and are fairly quick to make.
Whether or not I end up using the green beads, I’m happy I ordered them. There was a serious lack of green in my bead collection.

I have printed the pattern. Pilar talked me into doing this also! I will try to find some beads that I like. Will try Hobby Lobby and see what they have. Wish me luck!

Before you said anything, I was thinking that in this picture the top color looked like a good choice. It’s so difficult to tell with the variance in lighting, photos, and computer monitors…. The one to the left looks like it may be good, too. It might stand out more than the one at the top. If you knit up a swatch with different colors, I’m sure we can all chime in and really confuse you! LOL

I love the beads on the left. It will be interesting to see which you choose.

I concur that the ones on top look best with the yarn, of the green ones. I do like the raspberry, so I’ll have to look for your swatch post.

I like the second from the left!
