Cat wants to park herself on this piece of cardboard every evening. I have to walk right by her to get in the shop and she knows I go back and forth several times every evening. She doesn’t like when I walk by her. Sometimes she will hiss at me, other times she totally ignores me.
Yesterday she totally ignored me but she let me get close enough to take a picture. I haven’t been able to touch her in months. I think it’s my punishment for going out of town too often. She loves Vince. Last night he was over in the shop helping me do a couple of things and when we came out, it was almost dark and she was sitting by the back door of the house waiting for him. It wasn’t that long ago that I could pick her up just a little off the ground and she had nothing to do with Vince.
She is the laziest cat ever. When she first showed up here, she would occasionally leave “surprises” for us – mice, bunnies, a snake once. Now, she never ventures far from her food bowl and if it’s time for her to eat and no one has been out with food, she gets quite vocal. I don’t believe she’d chase a mouse now if her life depended on it. She likes the cat food we provide a whole lot better. That’s ok . . she probably had a rough life before we started caring for her so we’ll pamper her a little.
She’s one crazy cat. After all the wild critters we have around here, I’m surprised she’s lasted this long. I think it’s been over three years that she’s been here. Maybe she has been able to survive because of that bad attitude!
Even if she doesn’t like me, I still like her and I try to pet her every time I see her but nope, she wants nothing to do with me at all.

That’s a cat for you. Mind of their own. She will come around again maybe but till then she has found a friend in Vince.

DoesVince feed her? Cats like their food source the best! Take a piece of chicken or tuna or other meat out with you and just sort of toss it on her cardboard. Once she figures out the game she’ll be your best friend again. Before you know it she’ll only have eyes for you!

She doesn’t look like the little skinny, skittish Cat she used to be.

You and my husband are in the same club. Emma the black tortie is 17 now (we got her from our daughter 11 years ago because the landlord had ‘rules’) and she won’t let hubby nearer than 3 feet usually–and she’s an indoor only cat. If he manages to pick her up, she hisses at him. Makes him sad–and me, too, since sometimes she just bugs the heck out of me for attention and I’d like her to be somewhere else…
