I’m so hoping my Fleegle Beaders arrive today. But, if not . . maybe they’ll arrive tomorrow. I feel so in charge of my life because I know that today is Friday, even though all day yesterday, I thought it was Saturday. Vince’s retirement has so screwed up my ability to keep track of what day of the week it is.
Most rows of the current shawl have two colors of beads. Some rows have three colors of beads. I have one beader that’s working. I have one that is too small for size 6 beads and fingering weight yarn and I have one that has a rough spot on it and it snags my yarn.
Last night I decided to get out the dental floss and use that technique so I put knotted a stitch marker onto the end of three pieces of floss to keep the beads from falling off, put a handful of clear beads on one piece, but a lot of pink beads on one piece and put some green beads on the other piece of floss. I sat there with three strands of dental floss across the arm of the chair. Knocked one piece onto the floor and beads went everywhere. While trying to retrieve those beads, I knocked another piece into the chair and those beads went everywhere. That trick was not working.
Yesterday morning I got the bright idea to load the beads I needed onto one beader. Three pink, two green, three pink, two green . .
That worked but I’m so ready for my other beaders to arrive. I will think twice about ever using two colors across the rows of a project. This is about ten times slower than knitting with no beads and about five times slower than knitting with one color bead. But, aren’t those pink and green beads pretty together?

They are, and what’s more, it will be a beautiful shawl when they are all knitted in.
