Just a few things not worthy of their own blog post.
First, we’re up to 5.4″ of rain. It began drizzling Sunday and we haven’t had any real downpours but a bit of rain every day. We so seriously needed rain. There are parts of town that flood easily but I haven’t heard any reports of flooding there either. We’re so thankful for the rain.
Second – the ham. Country hams don’t even need to be refrigerated so I don’t have any safety concerns about Vince’s ham having been in the fridge for almost three years. Vince promises he’ll do something with it tomorrow. I hope “doing something” doesn’t mean just moving it to a different part of the fridge!
Third, I woke up with a headache, fixed breakfast, took aspirins and went back to bed. Vince woke me up at 3 p.m. He grilled the steak I’ve been planning on us having for days. I opened a jar of green beans . . spent the next few hours on the Chromebook. I cannot get any clipping apps to work right. I can get them to work on my tablet so it must be some setting on the Chromebook that just isn’t right.
Fourth – someone asked. No, Windows doesn’t work on Chromebook. The operating system is Chrome, and everyone has their opinion but since I’ve gotten used to my Android tablets, I love the Chrome operating system. I love the weight of the Chromebooks. I love the speed and response. The only program that I use often (or USED to use often) that I cannot use on a Chromebook is Electric Quilt. I still have my laptop and my desktop and they both have EQ on them so if/when I get the use EQ, it will be readily available.
There’s probably more but that’s all I can think of for now.

I too, have a Chromebook and am not overly wild about it, though it is lighter weight and a great size to be in my oversize purse for air flights. Have found that by Googling a question about how to do a specific task on Chromebook, the answer comes right up. For example how to: “cut & paste” or how to “delete,” etc. Might try that with questions you are having. Good luck and I sure enjoy reading your blog each day.

The app I was trying to use, for some reason, works perfectly with phones but not so much with the Chromebook tablets. Others had tried and failed so I gave up on that app, found one that works and I’m happy.

The slow rain is always better – rain soaks in, then a little bit more soaks in better, and it doesn’t just run off into the street. I checked a close weather underground site and we had 7.4 inches so far in September. And, we still have the State Fair rains to worry about. Tradition is that there is always rain during the spring Festival of the Arts and the fall State Fair.
The local sailing lake has gone up 1/2 foot in one day.and water is still coming into the lake. We are happy – fall sailing and even some winter sailing is going to be possible. YEA!

Wow, a whole desert year’s rain in a week! Everything must be loving that! You will figure it all out. I have faith in you.
