We are getting more rain. I think it started Monday evening and while it hasn’t rained non-stop, it’s rained a bit every day.
I will probably never complain about rain again. After living here, even though I’ve been back and forth to the shop to unload and re-load the freeze dryer, and bring the food back to the house . . several trips and several changes into dry clothes . . I am so happy we’re getting rain.
The dry ground is loving it too . . as are the fruit trees. The chickens . . not so much. They’re all hunkered down undr the chicken coop . . probably laying eggs and wondering if the old granny is going to crawl under there and get them. She is not!
So far, we’ve received 3.9″ of rain since it started on Monday. Until today when it rained hard and caused those big puddles, it’s been slow and steady. I’m also thankful there hasn’t been much thunder. Rita is thankful too! 🙂

I loved living in CO where it was pretty arid and the sun shone most every day…now we have rain almost every day (I’m hoping it will slow down soon, but we are in hurricane season!). I remember not being able to wash our car in our driveway and only being able to water our lawn a couple times a week…seems like we ought to be able to share our abundant supply of water! I would love to!

I know how thankful you are for the rain! Those pictures of puddles and mud make me happy too! My chickens love the rain when it’s slow and easy and the guineas go nuts when it rains.

Wow, that’s great! Just look at those puddles! Now that’s something I wish we COULD regulate. If we could spread our weather out so that the 5 inches of rain came in equal installments, instead of all in two weeks, that would be super. But better it come at once than not at all! I know all of Texas is happy to be wet. I have a friend in Dallas who said the same thing about it raining almost daily, and how happy her yard is – and now she has to get someone to mow it. LOL

I am loving it also! We have received almost that much and more as of today.

While we were camping we received quite a bit of rain, thunder, and lightning. All of which my princess of a dog doesn’t like. But she hunkered down under the blankets and the sleeping bag thrown over her to keep the noise to a minimum, slept like a champ.
Unfortunately when we returned there was no rain at our house in Western Colorado.. maybe this next week…
