This morning Vince and I were in town and a little ways from us in the parking lot was a man sitting in a pickup with the cutest little camper. I said to Vince “Oh, look at that cute little camper! We might want one of those.” We don’t . . he won’t pull anything and we don’t have a pickup and I would not pull it with my car.
Vince said “I doubt it has a kitchen.” You know what he’s always thinking about . . food! I said “I bet it does.” Vince said “Why don’t you go talk to him.” I said “I think I will!” Then Vince was saying . . NO!! I said I am . . but Vince walked right on in to the store and left me out there.
I walked over and started asking him questions about it. He said “Do you want to see inside?” I said “No!” Then he insisted. As he opened the door for me to look inside, I was thinking . . oh, great . . I hope this isn’t some crazy guy that’s going to shove me inside, drive off and no one will ever see me again or, worse . . no more blog posts and no one will be around to knit my yarn!
Obviously, he was a very nice man and didn’t cause me no harm. His wife was inside the store but . . he could have been just telling me that. He had his dog in the truck but don’t people trying to lure children away from their parents always have a puppy? Honestly, those thoughts never crossed my mind but in the future, I should think more about that kind of stuff . . but I probably won’t.
The RV was a little Forest River Rockwood Geo Pro. If I had a place to park something like that in MO near Chad where I could just leave it and not have to haul it and hook it up each time I went there, I’d buy that thing in a heartbeat.

That is one of the cutest campers I have seen. My friends have a Scamp and love it.

Why can’t you do pulling with your suv. I’m sure it doesn’t weigh that much and most suv can tow 6000 lbs .Would be great for you when you go till you find a house .
Judy Laquidara says
Our SUV is old and we don’t have a towing package on it. I hate driving through Oklahoma City and Tulsa without pulling anything . . no way I’d pull even a small trailer through there. If we had a place to park it there and leave it set up, we’d buy one and do that but right now, we have no place to leave it. We could buy a place but with crime what it is there, it wouldn’t be good to leave it unattended between visits. If we knew someone who had 40 or 50 or more acres and happened to have an RV hookup, it would be great but . . we don’t know anyone who has such a set up.

That’s just what I’ve been wanting. A little place (for me) when I visit the kids. But, my reasons for Not getting one are the same as yours. It sure is cute.

Have you seen those little teardrop trailers?? The only thing inside is the bed, TV and A/C. The kitchen is a pull up at the back of the camper! It is really cute.
dezertsuz says
The main disadvantage to a teardrop is no bathroom. For a young couple, or camping alone in the woods, it isn’t too big a problem. For those of us who don’t want to get out of bed in the middle of the night, it is. LOL An rPod isn’t much bigger and way more convenient. Or a Retro. They are all cute, and fun for pulling because they are lighter in weight than bigger trailers or 5th wheels.

That is just what I need for here in MI so I can go camping here in the north.
Cinda Moulds says
Bon, I’ve been looking at them for the same reason. I want my own conveniences ready to go.

My daughter has a reproduction of Shasta (seaform green with wings) So cute but too small for the blended family. It will be coming to live at my house until she can sell it for the same reason you don’t want to leave one. I don’t mind as it can be a “retreat”.

All you need to do is find a campground in MO close to Chad and ask for a permanent site. You leave your camper there year round always hooked up. You would have to winterize it in the winter. If you got it at an RV dealership close to the campground they would probably take it there for you.
Judy Laquidara says
In that area, we can rent a 2 bedroom apartment, with a garage, and pay utilities for less than the permanent monthly rates at an RV park.

Forest River is a good brand. They make a number of lines, including what we had at one time. There are pluses and minuses. Thanks for the link. I enjoyed looking at the 14 ft. one and the 17 ft. one, both. Pretty efficient living.
