We have our regular Tuesday knitting group. We’re a great group of friends and kind of a closed group because we’re limited in space. There’s a very nice little quilt shop in town that has started carrying yarn and she’s agreed to host Knit Night but sometimes it’s going to be Knit Morning. Sometimes we’ll meet at night, sometimes we’ll knit in the morning.
Last night was the first meeting and we had about 10 people there . . maybe 11, not counting the shop owner. One lady left early and I don’t remember if I counted heads before she left or afterwards.
Ten strangers together and we all laughed and had a great time. Two ladies from my daytime group were there but otherwise, I’d never met any of the ladies. Most everyone knew at least one person in there but by the time we left, we were all feeling like old friends!
When the shop owner asked if we wanted to meet weekly or monthly, I said “My husband retired in January. I’d like for us to meet daily!” I got overruled so we meet twice a month. I will look forward to those meetings, and the shop is only about 12 miles from our house.

Surely your comment/suggestion got an understanding chuckle or two! How fortunate you are to find so many like minded friends. I am envious. Of course, quilting isn’t quite as portable! Enjoy your groups!

What a wonderful thing! Now you’ll have two groups and more knitting times away.

I love meeting with our knitting group!! We meet at the local knitting shop every Wednesday and spend most of the day there–they open at 10 a.m. There are other groups on other days it just depends on the group you like to be with…we are pretty mellow but have a lot of fun and laugh a lot—always celebrate birthdays and love to eat the cake!! We are either retired or don’t have to work so we have a great time!! So enjoy your knitting friends!!

And I enjoyed it as well! Vida is great to do this for us and it was so good seeing my friend Sue! I had not seen her since I retired. I can’t remember if she retired (the 2nd time) before me or not. The reason she retired the first time was due to her husbands critical illness. She came back after his death but didn’t stay long. So glad she is getting out and meeting/making friends.
