This morning I started searching for yarn for Carrick Bend. This one is giving me a bit of trouble.
At first I thought Madelinetosh Pashmina might work.
It’s a little thin but I can work with the gauge and maybe go up a size and get it to work. I have plenty of yarn if I do have to knit at a tighter gauge and go up a size.
The next option is Tosh Sport. The color is Kenobi and it isn’t really this dark.
This yarn is a little thicker than the yarn suggested so I might have to go up a needle size (doubtful because I’m a loose knitter) and I might need to go down a size.
I’ll swatch first with the Pashmina and if I feel it isn’t going to work, I’ll try the Tosh Sport. And, if that doesn’t work, I’ll either dig more for another sport weight or order Miss Babs’ Killington which is what the pattern suggests.

I am not a knitter but I do get serious yarn envy when I see what you have and what you make.
I learned to knit from my grandmother and she was German?Czech so I learned ‘pick’ knitting. If I have a problem I don’t know anyone who knits like that so I can’t usually get help.
I do crochet so I usually stick to that.

Pick knitting is also called continental knitting, which is what I learned as a child from my mother. I’ve noticed that there are more videos on line which cover this style. And it is supposed to be easier on older hands/wrists. I still have too much fabric to deal with so, I can’t start thinking about getting a yarn stash!
Judy – do you take photos of your stash as it comes in or when you are sorting? At one point in time, I took photos of some of my fabrics that were on the upper shelves. It really helped in selecting groups and it made for a nice slide show when I was out of town. Of course, the colors on your computer/tablet have to be close to reality to be helpful for matching.
On the other hand, going through stashes is soothing! The cleanup to put everything away is not always as much fun.

That pattern is lovely. I am just getting into adult sweater knitting. I am doing a knit-along for the Ink cardigan. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ink
We start tomorrow. Pretty exciting. It’s a Face Book group Stitch By Stitch Ink Cardigan Knitalong. It’s a small group, everyone is welcome to join.

Those are both beautiful colors and would be really nice if you could make either of them work.
