Whataburger is such a big deal in Texas. I’m not sure I understand why. We used to go to the one here but haven’t been in at least a year.
We were in the grocery store yesterday and I noticed this.
It may or may not be new . . I never noticed it before but it was on sale so I had to try it. We had it for breakfast this morning and it wasn’t amazing and it wasn’t bad . . just average. There are several brands of sausage I like and whichever one of those costs less is what I buy. I’ll add the Whataburger sausage to the list to buy when it’s on sale.

We don’t even have any Whataburgers out here. Another thing I haven’t seen in a long time! I was buying sausage from Zaycon, and now they’re gone, I guess I’ll have to figure out if anyone still has Jimmy Dean or one of the others I like. But I still have about 20 lbs. of links to eat. =)

I love Whataburger, so whenever I’m somewhere they are I stop in. I can usually manage to find one about two or three times a year.

It’s a Texas thing. McDonalds and Burger King and Wendy’s didn’t used to be here. Dairy Queen was an ice cream thing, not burgers. Most are open inside (not just drive through) 24 hours a day. My kids’ first destination when they cross the border now. I like their breakfast taquitos (which you can get all night), but am not a hamburger fan anyway. They don’t have any issues with special orders.

Ever since I’ve made my own sausage from ground pork I’m afraid it’s ruined me for anything else. Sage, garlic powder, thyme, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt , pepper and a little lemon zest. Life changing!
