Chad and I went and looked at the house this morning. Oh, my . . it is probably as close to a dream home as I could ever get.
The owners are mostly moved out but I still don’t want to show pictures .. but I am . . for the kitchen because I wanted this house just for the kitchen!
OK . . and the sunroom off the kitchen.
Can you imagine cooking and this is your view. There are fruit trees out there so you know there are deer!
There was a bedroom in the basement, also with lots of windows, that would be perfect for the longarm and the sewing machines. It has a walkin closet bigger than most bedrooms so I could store fabric and yarn in there and probably keep my big cutting table in there so I wouldn’t have to haul fabric from one room to another and then back.
There are two other bedrooms in the basement. One of the bedrooms has a huge closet and a sitting room that’s about 12 x 12. I figured Vince could use that one for his office and 3D printers. We could use the other as a basement bedroom for stormy nights. On the main level are the master bedroom and another bedroom . . I’d say that could be Addie’s room! 🙂
As much as I love the house, it isn’t going to happen. No amount of begging is going to make Vince want to move there. He has a right to get what he wants too . . even though I think if he would just give this place a fair shot, he would like it. But . . not going to happen.
There will be something else somewhere that we will both be happy with.

Oh it’s gorgeous! I so wish Vince would give it some more thought. What is it my mother used to say? “A happy wife is a happy life”. Best of luck for your dream home whether it’s this one or another. 🙂

Gorgeous. I am hoping and praying that Vince decides to give it a look 🙂

Too bad you couldn’t get Vince to at least look at it. I left one of those messages the other day that never got through… My mom was sick of living in New York because of the weather, so she finally just told dad that she was leaving to live with my sister in Dallas. He could sell the house or not – she was leaving regardless. He finally took her at her word; sold the contents, sold the house, and about a year and a half later moved to Dallas. She’s always had that wanderlust in her; dad – not so much. But they worked it out, and now mom and dad both have recently moved in with my sister in North Carolina. Mom is 85 and sickly; Dad is 96 and wearing out…currently on his second pacemaker. Anyway, it all worked out in the end. I know you want to be able to at least let Vince have some input on where you live, so you wouldn’t do what my mom did. 🙂 Good luck!

That kitchen speaks well for the rest of the house. As much as you love to cook and Vince loves to eat this kitchen is a must have. His loss if he chooses not to look at it. Less kitchen less food cooked.

Oh my!! I can see you in that kitchen and having that view!!

You’re right – you’ll find the perfect place. A location you both love and a house you can make into a home.

From what I saw and read, this looks perfect. He should go see it and decide. He can stay there while you go visit your son and his family. You wouldn’t have to drive so far to see them He could be happy there if he would just let himself be happy. He just needs to see it. I love that kitchen and sunroom also!!

It is a beautiful house. The fact that there are already fruit trees there is a plus, too. It wouldn’t be so hard to lose yours if you are going to a house with fruit trees already! You and Vince will work it out somewhere. =)

Thanks for sharing. It does seem like a good house, in a location you would love. Vince may ‘come around’. I left a kitchen much like that one. It and one bathroom we had ‘gutted’ and redone could not be replaced by anything we looked at. Husband wanted a walkout basement. He got what he wanted! We are both quite content in a bigger house for our growing family. I do miss the shower we put in that house though! Don’t give up!

So where is this fabulous house and how many $ ?

OMGosh!! That kitchen is great. Gas stove would be better but that could be added. It sounds perfect. We have family in Springfield and I always enjoy visiting there. Everything is so pretty and scenic. got my hopes up for you.

I want that house! Just on the basis of the kitchen, sun room, view and your description of the rest of the place. Just what is it that Vince wants anyway?

It looks very nice! I definitely enjoy that view from the kitchen, but I don’t think I’d like my stove top out in the middle of the room like that. I would have things piled all over that island whenever I went to cook something with a lot of ingredients. Either that or I’d have to keep walking over to another counter to get things, and I’m too lazy for that! Seriously, though – I’d like it better if the island weren’t quite so far from the other counters. I’d want room to move, but probably not that much room. Just thought that might make you feel better about not getting it! LOL
