The flower girl dresses are almost done for now.
This is the one for the other little girl. She’s about 3″ taller than Addie but otherwise, they’re the same size. She is 2 days older than Addie. Last night I hand finished the bodice lining and still need to close up the armhole openings I left open for turning it.
Addie’s needs both those handwork things done and it needs to be hemmed and I need to sew the lace across the front. For the other girl, I have the front of the hem basted in and I’m going to wait to hem it when I get here in October. I’m also not sewing the lace on hers til I get back in October. She lives with two brothers and the lace is fragile enough that it probably is better to wait on that one. Nicole is actually going to keep the dress at her house and then get the little girl to try it on for the hem right before I come back in October.
Last night I told Nicole that I was going to machine hem the lining in Addie’s dress and then I could pack the machine away to take it home. She said “Granny, you have two quilts to bind.” Oh no . . totally forgot about that.
I do not like sewing binding on these fluffy throws but I’m going to hem Addie’s lining, then put the walking foot on the machine, get this one done and probably after lunch but before I go get Addie from school, I’ll get the other quilt bound.
Then, I can pack my machine away. I’ll be taking it home with me this time.

How sad for Addie! My best friend always liked me to leave at least a FW at her house, because then she felt sure I’d be back. LOL
