Vince and I have talked about this house before. I liked it . . he didn’t. Then there was a contract on it and that fell through. I’m going to look at it tomorrow. It has most everything we want as far as a house – it does not have a gas stove! 🙁 But, it has so much! It has 40 acres and three ponds, all three of which hold water all year.
It isn’t perfect. The driveway is very long . . like maybe longer than 1/4 mile. That would be a lot of snow removal but here, typically, they don’t get days and days of snow. If you can just wait, after a couple of days, it usually melts. Plan ahead . . don’t have a heart attack or anything on days when the driveway has 2′ of snow on it. Seriously, the driveway is going to be an issue for Vince. He hates having to keep our driveway up and all it involves is having rock delivered about once every two years. Here, where it rains, snows, freezes, thaws . . that long driveway is going to need more attention.
The house is 16 miles from Walmart. Probably not far enough for my preferences. It’s 44 miles from Joplin.
When I called Vince to tell him the house was back on the market, he said “Go look at it. Hopefully you’ll find something you hate and can stop talking about.” That doesn’t sound very positive so I’m not getting my hopes up.
Green Grass
I’m not showing a picture of the house . . it’s someone else’s house but you know how I feel about green grass. I know this yard has been neglected but it’s still very lush and green.
Neighbors
These are the neighbors. They didn’t look very friendly but they also don’t seem very noisy or aggravating.
I would say there is a 0% chance of us getting this one but . . you never know what might happen. I was excited to see it back on the market and can’t make an educated decision about it til I look at it.

If Vince is going to be completely against it, I hope you find something that’s a deal breaker, but I have a feeling you are going to still love it. Who could resist those neighbors? Vince should save money each month toward paying someone else to maintain the driveway. He doesn’t HAVE to do everything himself if he budgets for someone else to do it. =)

Remind him he is retired and as Addie would say there are people to repair that driveway.

Don’t worry about gas. Get induction. Just as fast but lots cleaner and cooler. Love mine.
