There are several “must go” places when I’m visiting Chad. One is the White Grill burger joint but I doubt I go there. I don’t think a White Grill burger would solve my craving if I couldn’t eat the bun. I’ve always loved the Mexican restaurant here but the last time I went, it wasn’t great and we went the other night, and I liked it less so I think I’ll scratch that place off my list.
Chad and I ran over to Fort Scott, KS this morning and did a few things we needed to do there and then Chad said “Want to go to Marsha’s?” I think he halfway felt bad for me because he knew I couldn’t eat a sandwich but I knew they would make a breadless sandwich!
Look at that tomato! I would have been happy with a container of just those tomatoes! Yum! Meat, lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, horseradish and mayo. I’d go back again tomorrow!
Chad’s sandwich must have weighed a pound. He ate half and saved the other half.
Chad is making burnt ends tonight (no sugar added he promised). I’ll roast the leftover potatoes from the crab boil for them and I’ll steam some broccoli. I think they all eat broccoli. I’ll skip the potatoes and stay on my diet.

Both sandwiches look delicious! But what are burnt ends? I have never heard of that before.

Burnt ends are parts of a brisket that are the smaller tips which really aren’t a good slice of meat to serve in restaurant but were used as a sample. And, they can be the fattier portions of the brisket which, again, don’t make a good slice, but if cooked longer are a combo of crispy fat and meat. Or – pieces of meat which are good to serve as a slice of brisket, but when cooked & sauced can be fantastic bites.

oops – that should be “not good” to serve as a slice of brisket..

Good lunch, great dinner! You certainly aren’t starving there, at all.
