Chad and I bought some groceries today. I texted Nicole to see if there was anything she needed and she said “just anything you see that would work for Addie’s lunches”.
And we got drinks.
I got Gogurt so she can take that if she wants. She has a cool pack that goes in her lunch box because she takes a peanut butter/mayo sandwich to school. Good grief . . her mom has ruined her. Who eats mayo with peanut butter?
I’m thinking that if she likes all these treats, she may not need more til I get back again . . unless her mom and dad start eating them.
We sent lunch money too so she can eat in the cafeteria too if she would rather eat there. They have several choices for a main meal each day and then they have a “healthy snack bar” where you can get all you want. The day we were there, it had lettuce, carrots, apple slices, watermelon . . several really yummy looking things. I won’t be surprised if she eats in the cafeteria some.

How many hours is kindergarten there? Here it is only morning or afternoon thus no lunch! PB and mayo is a new one to me. I wonder how it tastes! Seems like you are really having a nice time! Happy for you!

Hey! I’ve been eating peanut butter and mayo sandwiches for decades but they have to have crunchy lettuce in them. Fun to hear about your family especially Addie.

She is lucky to be able to have peanut butter. So many schools here have banned it. I can’t believe how many kids are allergic.

Okay, don’t judge but I happen to love peanut butter, mayo and bologna sandwiches. I don’t know why. We had them as kids and I’m 69 and still like them!

My mom eats peanut butter and mayo sandwiches. Yuck. Now, give me and peanut butter and pickle sandwich and I am a happy camper! Dill pickles, of course.

Oh, gosh, that sounds SO gross!! Who’d even think of putting mayo and PB together. Yuck!! But I had a friend when I was a kid and went over to her house to play one day. She asked if I wanted a snack and I said OK..she spread lard/shortening on a piece of bread and sprinkled sugar all over it! I couldn’t get that slick outta my mouth for days!! HAHA She loved it…eww.

We had friends who escaped from East Berlin years ago. They were always thrilled when we butchered and they received freshly rendered lard. Germany German people?

My husband about “lost it” the first time Karlheinz excitedly slathered bread, added sugar and offered it to him!

Peanut butter, mayo and pickles was my sandwich when I was a young un!!

Bread, butter, then sugar; now that was tasty!
So was rubbing a lemon half in sugar, then sucking the lemon juice and sugar directly from the lemon. Bad for the teeth though! My Mom showed us those one day when she must have been feeling homesick for her family. None lived within a four hour drive of us. We children agreed with Mom that four hours was way too far away.
It’s 36-42 hrs drive now, and we just don’t get to spend time with any of our parents, siblings.
Grateful to have unlimited phone minutes, email…

That sounds like a great cafeteria, and could teach children healthy food choices, too.

I eat peanut butter with mayo!!! I have ever since I was a kid – hundreds of years ago. I don’t know how I got started on that but it’s about the only way I eat peanut butter. Everyone thinks I’m nuts too.
