Aldi has raspberries on sale this week. 6 oz. for $1.44. That is one of the few fruits I can eat on this diet . . in moderation. We bought a couple of packs the other day and they are delicious. Usually, they’re way too sour for me but these were quite good . . probably meaning they have too many carbs!
We went back today and got more. I found this recipe last night for White Chocolate Raspberry Fat Bombs. I haven’t been eating fat bombs but there have been days when I had to eat a tablespoon or two of coconut oil so I’d rather try something like this every now and then and see how it affects the weight loss, rather than eating straight coconut oil. The recipe actually uses freeze dried raspberries.
Raspberries
We went back to Aldi today (along with Walmart, United, CVS and he asked if I wanted to go to Hobby Lobby . . NO!!) so I got 8 more packs of raspberries . . only 8 because that’s all they had left. I wanted to flash freeze them because I won’t have time to do the whole freeze drying process before I leave and Vince hasn’t ever used the freeze dryer and doesn’t want to do it the first time while I’m not here to help. I don’t have enough room in any of the freezers to put three trays of raspberries to freeze flat so I put them in the freeze dryer, will let them freeze, then take them out, bag them and put them in the big freezer. When I get back, I’ll put them back in the freeze dryer, let them freeze more (it gets way lower than the freezers), and finish the freeze drying process.

I started the same plan a few days after you. It’s blackberry season here in Washington, so I looked on line and yes, blackberries are also OK in moderation. So my freezer has snack baggies of them ready for use alone and in full-fat yogurt. Hoping I can stick to it. I’m pondering a freeze-dryer after your good experiences.

We don’t have blackberries here . . too dry I suppose. I love fresh blackberries. I know the freeze dryer isn’t for everyone but I absolutely love mine. Good luck on your diet.

I didn’t even know you could do that! I will have to stop by on Monday and see if that’s our price, too. I need milk anyway.
